The NFL draft is back for it's final day, and we can't WAIT to see what steals of the draft can be found in the 7th round! It's so exciting in fact, that I am putting up an open thread on a blog when everyone will probably be outside running errands, enjoying their day off from work, or generally not giving a shit about the Minnesota Vikings selecting a career practice squad player! HURRAY!!
On the off chance that they do get someone of interest still available however (Dennard, McNutt, Toon, etc.), come chat about it here. I guess. If you don't, I won't blame you.
To get us started, I present out first shirtless Vikings draft pick of the year after the jump (courtesy of Hammy1724), Harrison Smith. Get at him, ladies!!
You can even click on the picture to make it bigger. If you're in to that sort of thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Well this was a complete fucking waste of my Saturday. I can never get those 6 hours back. Thanks Rick!! The only thing I want to know is who Mr. Irrelevant winds up being? I really hope it is some grossly overweight blob of a lineman, who is hairy and smelly....and want to see if the slut that says she is going to lay Mr. Irrelevant comes thru.
What is this? The fucking buddy system? 2 from USC, 2 from ARK & 2 from ND. Guess our next pick will be from UCF???
Not to be the optomist but...
Ellison is a hybrid fullback/tight end who could play either role in the NFL. He is the beneficiary of a light tight end class in 2012, projecting to be one of the first off the board. A bruiser with a punishing frame, Ellison is a reliable blocker, both in-line and out of the backfield. He displays the same consistency in his pass-catching skills, both out of backfield and working upfield. Ellison likely will be selected in the middle rounds of the draft by a team looking for a physical player who can bring a workman-like attitude to the facility.
AnalysisStrengths Ellison is quick off the line of scrimmage for his size and understands how to stem to avoid jams. He is a decent route runner who will get covered but can separate at the top of routes. He catches nearly everything thrown to him is a very good in-line blocker. Weaknesses Ellison is not very fast, nor is he a quick-twitch athlete. This is evident when he is running deep routes and trying to work upfield. He labors to move at times and can struggle in hard cuts on his routes.
@the4norsemen He also said today he was out on the beach relaxing, not expecting to be picked at all, and was so surprised when the Vikings called him that he started crying.
That's all fine and whatever, but come on. A 4th rounder for a guy that wasn't going to be picked. What the hell.
Rhett Whos-his-face? Was only a matter of time before Spieldick screwed this all up. What a jackoff.
Well, we're almost up here ... Lot's of options, and we have like 20 of the next 15 picks somehow, so we'll be rolling.
YAWN...Guess everyone is out running errands or still in bed with a hangover. Hopefully Speilman and co. don't act like they are hungover.
I say Smith & Raymond, as well as Ponder, need to play with their shirts off and just paint their names & numbers on themselves. It will really be a distraction when we play the CheeseBillies. Karen Rodgers will lock in on our safeties and Gay Clay will flirt with and molest Ponder instead of sack him!
Gay Clay might even strip down to his depends then get called for illegal use of hands and ejected from the game.
@CollegeWolf I'm also wondering who is going to pick up Jared Crick from Nebraska. He was Suh-lite for a little while until he got a couple of nagging injuries. Definite injury bug, and may be too light to play for the Vikings in our 4-3 (at the Pat Williams spot), but if he gets healthy again he will be a nice player for someone.
Still hoping for Dennard.
